We are looking for additional board directors to take the Mount Vernon Library Foundation into the future!

Are you passionate about supporting your community and enhancing public library services? Consider joining the Mount Vernon Library Foundation Board of Directors! As a board member, you will play a crucial role in guiding the Foundation’s efforts to raise funds and advocate for the Mount Vernon Library Commons. Our board is responsible for financial oversight, fundraising initiatives, and community outreach.

Foundation Board Directors draw on individual talents and interests to further this mission with a desire to make a positive impact in the community through the Mount Vernon City Library.  Experience might include:

• Fundraising 
• Community connections
• Public speaking
  
• Business acumen 
  
• Communication and/or grant writing skills
  
• Experience with website management
  

• Dexterity with social media
• Financial/bookkeeping expertise
  
• Board experience
• The education of youth
• ​Work with outreach services
  

The board meets the second Monday each month in the evening to update finances, consider requests for library funding, plan events, set goals, and in order to further our mission and fundraising, consider ways to make the board’s work more visible.
 
Email communication, committee work, and event attendance may require additional time, though members determine their own time commitment.
 
We are currently seeking new directors.
