Below are additional ways in which you can support the Mount Vernon Library Foundation:
A Memorial or Honorarium. A thoughtful way of paying tribute to a loved one or associate. When you make a donation, you can reference the honoree or memorial name and provide an address if you would like the family to receive notification of your gift. We will also send you an acknowledgment of your donation.
Provide a Foundation or Corporate Grant. If your employer, business or foundation has a matching gift program or a charitable grant program, contact us to work with you to meet the requirements for donation.
Consider a Planned Gift or Bequest. The Library Foundation was established thanks to a major legacy donation. This is one of the simplest ways to make a future gift. We encourage you to contact your professional tax advisor as to how best to structure a gift for your needs.
Consider an IRA Charitable Rollover. In late 2015, the President signed into law the permanent authorization of the IRA charitable rollover. The provision allows individuals age 70½ or older to make tax-free gifts totaling up to $100,000 from a traditional IRA account directly to qualified charities. While you cannot claim a charitable deduction for IRA gifts, this distribution from your IRA counts towards your minimum required distribution for the account and does NOT trigger income tax for you. It is a tax-free transfer from the IRA account directly to a charitable organization.
