Funding Plan
The City of Mount Vernon committed to a $53.4 million project with the intention of not increasing constituent taxes through a bond. With the cost of construction continuing to rise, the City Council voted to begin construction in the fall of 2022 with a $6 million funding gap. As of August 2023, we are under $1.7 million from our goal with the projection to be fully funded by the end of 2023 without a bond measure.
