The Skye K. Richendrfer Culture & History Display
Skye’s family and friends have launched a fundraising campaign in his honor. We aim to raise $25,000 to help complete the Mount Vernon Library Commons. This gives us the privilege of naming the new, state of the art display cases the: Skye K. Richendrfer Culture and History Display in the new Mount Vernon Library Commons. As founder and Executive Director of the Celtic Arts Foundation in downtown Mount Vernon, Skye was always passionate about celebrating our cultural diversity and embracing and honoring our historical roots.
Skye clearly loved this community, and would have been honored to support the Library Commons and contribute to its completion. The MVLC is the kind of forward-thinking infrastructure project that was the hallmark of his career as mayor and citizen of Mount Vernon. From setting up the City’s fiber optic network; initiating the flood protection project; enhancing travel in, out and around the area with the centralized multimodal station; to the new stage, and landscape and power improvements at Edgewater Park; Skye was always active in improving life in Mount Vernon. In his name, we want to contribute to one more enduring civic improvement.
